ABOUT diana

I began barbering in my hometown of Bainbridge Island, Washington in 2007. After a few years learning the business of barbering, I opened a barbershop in a turn of the century building in a beautiful wheat farming town in eastern Washington. I renovated the space which had been shuttered for years and proudly hung my shingle. I did not know a soul. I knew exactly nothing about bookkeeping or small town politics. All I knew was barbering and I found a community that needed a barber. Business entrepreneurship requires a mixture of courage, crazy, and skill; in that order. I loved business ownership and I loved my membership in the community but I longed for home and when the opportunity arose I sold my business and moved back to the Puget Sound.

For 4 years I barbered at Jim’s Barbershop in Port Townsend. Once again, I became a part of a community in ways only a barber can; I watched kids grow up and move off to college, I watched families grow and recede. My passion for the people in my community extends beyond the success of a local business or a great haircut.

By opening this barbershop, I am not just asking for your support, I am humbly asking you to let me into your knit, to become a part of your Langley family. I cordially invite you in to Chops Barbershop, located in downtown Langley, for a great, quick haircut for the whole family at an unbeatable price. Together we can build a stronger local economy and a closer community, one haircut at a time.

about Jeff

Jeff has been calling Whidbey home off and on since 2003 when he moved here with the Navy and decided to stay.

He began his career as a barber in 2018 as a way to work more closely with his wife Constance, a local cosmetologist both on Whidbey and around the Pacific Northwest for the past 15 years, and immediately knew he had found his calling. Jeff has enjoyed gaining experience working in Seattle over the last several years, but is thrilled to be back taking clients at his home on Whidbey again.
